AI-generated ads on social media are using deepfaked images and video of Irish ministers to promote a fake version of the government's planned savings scheme. The ads lead to a sign-up form, then a call from a convincing "advisor". Real State Savings are sold through An Post and official state channels only — any genuine new scheme will be announced on gov.ie, not through a social media ad.
